Building Trades of Alberta Courage Centre

A lead $1 million gift, donated by the Building Trades of Alberta (BTA) Charitable Foundation created our world class facility where new beginnings are born and nurtured using the latest advances in rehabilitation equipment combined with leading- edge technology.

Think robotics (made possible by The United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters and Pipefitters Local Union 488). Think virtual reality (made possible by The International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 146). Think simulation and gaming (made possible by the Construction and General WorkersTM Union Local 92. Think cognitive learning zone (made possible by The Alberta Regional Council of Carpenters and Allied Workers).

Other Advancements

 

 

OIL Centre

Oilers Interactive Learning Centre - The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation joined with us to create the state-of-the-art OIL Centre, where pediatric patients can explore the therapeutic value of play both individually and with their families using digital touch screens, lego robots and more.

Dental Clinic Expansion

Edmonton seniors, older adults with chronic conditions and individuals with disabilities have a new and expanded home for dental care, thanks to a partnership between the University of Alberta's School of Dentistry, Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation (GRHF) and Alberta Health Services.

CIM Centre

The Government of Canada (Department of National Defence), the Government of Alberta, Alberta Health Services and our Foundation launched the CAREN (Computer Assisted Rehabilitation Environment) virtual reality system which is housed in the  CIM Centre.This is the only clinical unit in Western Canada.

Syncrude Centre for Motion & Balance

Syncrude supported the Glenrose's first technology lab using motion capture technology from ceiling to floor, which is supporting the acquisition of critical, accurate data for customized rehabilitation treatment plans.

McBain Paediatric Unit 201

Alongside champion Ross McBain, our donors ensured major renovations to the specialized pediatric inpatient care unit for children requiring intensive rehabilitation we made.

I Can Centre

Launching this unique environment dedicated to bringing adaptive technology into the lives of people with disabilities to help them achieve higher degrees of independence allows care to go beyond the walls of the hospital.
